Ed Morrissey has an interview with Commander David Rehbein of the American Legion, who had a meeting with Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano. She apologized to him for the DHS report, which suggested that right wing extremist groups might target veterans for recruitment.

WaPo’s the Federal Eye also has the story:

I don’t know if she originated it, but Michelle Malkin amusingly calls the DHS secretary “Ja-No.”

Michelle Malkin also reported in Ja-No’s remarks on Canada and terrorism:

Over at National Review, Mark Steyn has two posts on the Canada thing:

Radio silence (as far as I can tell) today and yesterday on the left on all this. Find any links? Put ‘em in the comments.

UPDATE: Signal from the left. David Weigel at the Washington Independent.

UPDATE #2: Jennifer Rubin at Commentary has an interesting take on how big the bureaucracy at DHS is. “The biggest problem for DHS then may not be that its secretary did not know how the 9-11 terrorists got into the country. It has become what its critics feared: a jumble of agencies too big to manage and too disorganized to effectively do its job.”
